Russell "Glenn" Holley
Vern-Padre-Glennski
Park City, UT—Glenn Holley was born in Vernal Utah December 13, 1948 to Russ and Lola Holley. Vernal was a childhood paradise with frog ponds and Eagle Scout adventures. He excelled in sports and academia. In 1964 his family moved to Salt Lake. He went on to Skyline High and the U of U, joining the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. His sport was basketball, especially church ball. After adventures in Alaska he moved to Park City in the 70's.
Glenn loved the outdoors, skiing, backpacking, fishing, biking, but is best known for turning a whole generation onto the thrill of river running.
Glenn was a general contractor, known as incredibly hardworking and very creative.
He is survived by his wife Mary, son Harrison, sister Cheryl Smith, brother Brent and a large community of friends.
A memorial will be held Monday, June 27th at 5:00 at Rotary Park in Park City.

I met Glenn in high school our friendship grew at the university of Utah. We both were in the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity where we lived at the fraternity house on and off over the 4 years of college. We shared a love for the outdoors and adventure. I went to Alaska right after graduation in 1971 and talked Glenn into coming up and working with us in 1982 and 1983. He was an amazing craftsmen so talented. Our time in Alaska included floating remote rivers fishing for Rainbow trout. Glenn helped us fix up a remote Alaska lodge we acquired on Lake Clark in Alaska. We stayed in touch over the years skiing in both Park City and Alaska. We floated,and fished the Green river in Utah and enjoyed many get togethers over the years. Glenn I believe heaven is made for good people like you. Hope to see you down the road my friend. Walt
