Lynette M. Fenton (1948 - 2015)

Lynette Ruth Merrill Fenton, our sweet, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 2, 2015, in her home surrounded by her family.

Lynette was born Dec. 11, 1948, in Salt Lake City to Clarence L. Merrill and Marian Thompson. She then married Todd B. Fenton on April 25, 1968, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Lynette always had an extreme love for music, and so she served in many musical positions as chorister, organist, and choir director and in the Primary. Lynette also served in the Relief Society presidency, and in her last years as Relief Society Visiting Teaching district supervisor, (which she dearly loved, because it kept her in touch with her fellow sisters), and as an indexing worker.

Nothing was more important to Lynette than her family, and how her LDS faith made the family so important in her life. She had a very special love for her Savior and Father in Heaven. She so loved being with her family and friends even though in the last several years when her multiple diseases and rapid energy loss were making her life very difficult to visit with them as much as she would like. Lynette served as principal's secretary for many years at Millville School and when she had to leave due to her illnesses (and becoming disabled). Her heart was broken to leave the children and co-workers she so dearly loved.

Lynette had the ability to see the beauty in everything and everyone and always was asking how you were feeling even though she was extremely ill and always felt quite poorly.

Lynette was preceded in death by her father, Clarence L. Merrill, mother, Marian Thompson, sister Marilyn Kay Rasmussen and brother C. Shane Merrill.

Lynette is survived by her grieving husband and best friend, Todd B. Fenton of Nibley, sons Jason T Fenton (Ginger) of Nibley, Scott C Fenton (Debra) of Hyrum, Trevor M Fenton (Mandy) of Nibley, Joshua M Fenton (Britnee) of Nibley, Daughter Trisha F Duersch (Eric) of Wellsville, 14 grandchildren, brother Don L Merrill (Jeanette) of Riverton, Utah.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Nibley Stake Center 450 W. 3701 South, Nibley. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday prior to her funeral at Nibley Stake Center. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery. Condolences can be extended to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net.

Lynette's family have many special people to thank for caring for her over the many years she was so very ill. Dr. Glenn Mortensen, Dr. Patty Jones, (with whom Lynette had a very special bond), Dr. Thomas Clark and his entire staff, and all the wonderful people at Reed's Pharmacy in Hyrum who worked so hard to get her all the many diverse and difficult medications she would require over the years. A special thanks to "Access" Hospice that made Lynette's last few days bearable. Their sweet caring ways and how they make patients comfortable is truly a blessing. And a special thank you to the wonderful nurse "Crockett" and Jason. Thanks to all of you for caring.
