Devin Young
Devin Young 4/2/1949 ~ 1/9/2008
Devin Young, daughter of Harold and Donna Young of West Yellowstone, Montana, peacefully passed away in Salt Lake City of complications while awaiting a liver transplant. Raised in West Yellowstone, Devin later graduated from Skyline High School. She spent the past 10 years working and traveling the country with her loving companion, Jim Timmins, in their motorhome. Devin was preceded in death by both of her parents and is survived by her companion, Jim, her sister, Marlynn, and Marlynn's husband, Norm and many extended family members. Her loving heart, vivacious and outgoing spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Her Life will be held 10 a.m. Sat. January 19, at Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Ave, Salt Lake City.

Mary Lou Bekker (Holman)
Devin was a good friend, and we had such fun together. Her family lived in West Yellowstone, but she would live with her grandparents during the school year in Salt Lake and attend Skyline. I visited her in West Yellowstone during the summer several times, and we would ride scooters and go swimming in the "hot pots". I remember one summer we crashed on the Kawasaki out on some dirt road and both had leg injuries. Hers were worse than mine, with stiches and burns. She was an excellent snowmobile racer, and entered many races. She had a great alto voice in Concert Choir.
About ten (?) years ago she called me and we went skiing together--she was a great skiier. That was the last time I saw her, and I would like to know how she died. Mary Lou Bekker Holman

According to the information the reunion committee has gotten, Devin died of liver disease. That's all I know about it. Is there anyone else out there who has more info? I, too, feel really sorry that she died so young. Life is unpredictable, isn't it?
