Linda Jean Christensen Church
Born May 29, 1949, Linda Jean Church died in her sleep April 20, 1996.
Linda was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah to Duane and Margaret Christensen. She graduated from Skyline High School in 1967 and went to work for Cal-Ink, where she met her future husband, Richard while ordering machine parts over the phone from a Minnesota company. They were married June 9, 1975.Linda was the loving wife of Richard and the proud mother of Robert, 17, and Jennifer, 19, and was the adoptive mother of Toy, Murphy, Pepper, and Gizmo. She is also survived by her parents, Duane and Margaret, her brother Craig, her sister Jill and family, and her Grandma Merle Christensen.
Linda worked as a Unit Secretary at LDS Hospital for over twenty-two years and had comforted many who had lost a family member. Many commented that they wouldn't have known what to do if she hadn't been there. Linda always gave to others more than she took for herself, but as a result, the world is a better place because she was here.
Beautiful in her own right, Linda left her mark behind in her beautiful handicrafts, the love of her dogs, and the friends she made. Her family has been left incomplete by her passing, and we sorely miss her. Linda loved music and one of her favorite songs said:
"I had your love, I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved
by you."
Although we may not have told her as often as we should have, her family was blessed by her love, and are thankful for the time that God granted us. "We love you Mom, and we miss you."
Funeral services Tuesday, April 23rd, at 12 Noon, Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Monday evening 6-8 PM and Tuesday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, Sandy, Utah.

Linda Gessel (Grow)
Linda Christensen and I grew up as best friends. We did just about everything together through our years at Sherman Elementary School and Evergreen Junior High. We had lots of experiences and adventures in school, church (M.I.A.), 4-H and Girl Scouts. Linda was cute, fun loving, caring and creative. As we got older, our paths started to diverge as did our interests--she loved modern dance (at Skyline and with Virginia Tanner at the U of U) and she could crochet anything--many worthy causes benefitted from her talents. Linda passed away in 1996--she was far too young--leaving behind her husband and two beautiful children. I will always remember her and the great times we shared. I miss her.

So sad that Linda Died so young! It was so fun knowing her in High School and at the Virginia Tanner Studios. We both loved dance, and had the same training with Virginia Tanner. It was fun performing with her in the Modern Dance Club with Mrs Vernon as our teacher. We will miss her at the reunion but hope she will be there in spirit.

I remember knowing Linda from elementary school on up to high school graduation. In elementary school, we learned to play the violin together, and would sometimes walk home from "Summer Music," talking and carrying our cases in hand. I recall her being close friends with Linda Gessell (It was always "Linda and Linda," for many years.) We took the same school bus to Skyline, and I recall sitting together and having fun conversations about dance, a passion we shared. She was always so friendly and upbeat. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her early death.
