Larry Kay Calkins, age 69, passed away on March 27, 2017 at his home in St. George, Utah. He passed after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Salt Lake City October 14, 1948 to Oliver Kay and Betty Lou Preston Calkins.

He had a life full of friends, family, and made a big impact on the lives of all those who crossed his path. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a fulfilling career in architecture and later became the US technical support trainer for the Seimon Company, a telecommunications firm. He was great golfer and an accomplished photographer. He was a great man of faith and an excellent example of living his beliefs to the fullest.

Larry has two sons: Chad Oliver Calkins and Kelly Kay Calkins and two step-sons: Bret Thomas Barrow and Shane Edward Barrow.

Larry is survived by his wife Gwen Okerlund Calkins, his children, a sister, Leslee Calkins Busenbark, grandchildren: Maya, Parker, Kristina, James, Nathan, and Ella, and 1 great-grandchild, Carter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Glenmoor 3rd Ward, 9455 S. 4800 W. South Jordan, UT. A viewing for family and friends will precede the funeral beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the services at Redwood Memorial Park.
